01 Calaroga Media. Hi there, I'm Johnny Mac with your daily comedy news. Shane Gillis is in a new commercial with Danny McBride. They're promoting one of those prediction market websites. Danny wrote the four-minute commercial, which stars Shane Gillis as a weatherman who can't seem to get the forecast right. McBride plays a weatherman at another network who is somehow always correct. Let's play a little bit of the Shane Gillis parts. It's like we got clear and sunny skies, so it's a great day to get outside, folks. Those milder temps there mean we're probably looking at rain instead of snow, so good news, everybody.

45 A shorter version of the commercial has been airing during the World Series. Danny McBride said in the past year it made some questionable trades on contracts for local weather, Costco, hot dog prices, and cricket. To make this very unique ad was a great way to both make amends on some of my questionable predictions, but also get to work with Shane... And reunite with my good pal Deep Roy. Deep Roy appears. I won't spoil the spot for you if you haven't seen it. No quote from Shane Gillis in the press release. The President of the United States has criticized Bill Maher in what is believed to be the President of the United States' longest post on Truth Social, coming in at 1,318 words. The President has called Bill Maher a complete and total loser, all caps. Let's read from some of the lengthy statement from the President of the United States. who writes, Let's talk about this complete and total loser, Bill Maher. He's got a low-rated show on equally low-rated HBO, which was once long ago a network of quality and excitement, but that's all gone. It's not HOT anymore. HOT in all caps. Trump then talked about producer Chuck LaBella, who has worked with Bill Maher for years, saying that LaBella was a, quote, gopher on The Apprentice, which used to be hosted by Donald Trump. Apparently, Bill Maher had made some jokes Friday night about the president's recent comments. I shared those on a show. Bill Maher said, it's just a little odd that Trump keeps gushing about men's bodies and how handsome they are and their jawlines and their asses and their physiques. Maher said, I'm a little hurt. I was there for dinner for four hours last week and not a peep, nothing. That's

17 a funny joke. Perhaps it was this. Bill Maher said Trump has the lowest approval rating of any midterm candidate ever. Only 1% of the Republicans are mentioning him in their ads. In the Truth Social post, Trump either called Maher or LaBella, it's not clear who he meant, a pothead, and said he looked like hell this time. Again, unclear if he meant Maher or LaBella. I could guess, but I won't. The president also said that Maher, quote, was drunk and had alcohol in his hand as he walked through the White House. The president also wrote that Bill Maher, quote, lies about everything and accused him of using, quote, a laughter machine because his jokes, quote, aren't funny or even any good. Trump ended the post addressing Bill Maher directly, writing, quote, You're also a coward who's afraid to tell the truth about how well our country is running because of your few fans and how badly the Democrats have done, almost destroying the USA. If I hadn't won the election, it would be dead. Also, turn your laugh machine off. It's a joke when they laugh uncontrollably, even when you say nothing funny. And I'm going to have the Republicans not cover you anymore because they try to talk about you as a guy who is transformative. You're not transformative. You're a loser. I never watched your show much, but I will never watch it again because it is nothing more than fake news that America and the world is unfortunately subjected to. Thank you for your attention to this matter, President Donald J. Trump. Larry the Cable Guy is upset.

39 He was on the Meat Eater podcast. Cable Guy was talking about back in the day, DirecTV, quote, missed an obvious advertising opportunity. The idea, according to Cable Guy, the first thing I thought was, why don't they get me? Larry the Cable Guy is switching to DirecTV. See, that's actually pretty clever. Cable Guy explains, at the time, well, Larry the Cable Guy is only really for one part of the country because of the southern accent. Sometimes he says things that are a little controversial. Meanwhile, you got freaking rappers singing about killing cops. They're getting all kinds of corporate stuff. Cable Guy then said, I got nothing against Snoop Dogg. God bless Snoop Dogg. He then later added, there's a lot of hypocrisy in corporate, who they get and who they don't get. Look, I've had a good career. I ain't worried about it, but I'm just saying that DirecTV pissed me off. He then again said he has no issue with Snoop Dogg explaining, I love everybody and I'm happy for everybody's career. I'm not mad at them.

28 I'm upset at the corporations that would say you're too controversial. Then they'll put somebody else that's even way more controversial. Josh Johnson weighed in on the Kelly Clarkson kerfluffle. I know I say the word wrong. I just like saying kerfluffle. Kerfluffle doesn't sound right to me. Kerfluffle. I'm adding the extra L. Just roll with it. You may recall Kelly Clarkson visited a store in Brooklyn and expressed interest in purchasing an animatronic bird, which had a $ 15, 000 price tag displayed behind it. The store Art of Play said Molly the bird was not for sale, but then... said the Seattle-based artist who created it could make an identical version for that price. The store also said an employee offered Kelly Clarkson a cheaper alternative that she could take home immediately.

10 Clarkson then accused the shop of giving her the pretty woman treatment. Well, Josh Johnson has dived in on this controversy on stage. He said just because she's in plain clothes, just because she's chilling, people look at her up and down like she can't afford it and say, I'm going to show you something cheaper. That's wild, you know? This is just me. I'm not telling you how to feel. This is just me. When I read that, I was like, no, y'all were rude. You made it sound like Kelly Clarkson walked in and was trying to buy the cash register. Michael Che talked about his current special and where the material came from. Che said, it's probably 20 minutes that I've just stashed away just to make it fit. There was a version that we were doing on the road that was an hour 15, something like that. I think maybe now it's 55 minutes, something like that. To me, 50 minutes is usually the sweet spot with a special.

52 It's just a nice sampling. It's not too long. People can get tired from laughing. You can kill for too long if people are like, I need to take a break. So that's when you want to pace different. You want to start to tell longer stories. You want to be a little bit more thoughtful, give people a chance to catch up. 50, 55 minutes to an hour is the sweet spot. You don't want to keep forcing stuff. Hey, reminder, you got to vote. The midterm elections are on Tuesday and you can early vote. Take out your phone and Google early voting near me and they'll tell you what to do. Go vote if you're worried about, you know, there could be lines or something next Tuesday or something could go sideways. Why not vote now? I'm personally going to vote on Tuesday morning. I'll go grab a nice coffee and I'll drive up to my local pearling place before 7 a.m. There's usually no line there. But it's super important you vote this time around. Maybe you like this team. Maybe you like that team. Support your team and go vote for them. Very important. Listen to this.

40 Comedy Central, you know what they're making? Comedy specials. I know, right? They had been doing stand-up selects, a compilation of short sets, but now they are doing a full-length special. It is Eyes Down Here, the debut hour from Chloe Radcliffe. It is out on Comedy Central's YouTube channel. They put it up there yesterday. Ari Pierce, EVP, head of Comedy Central Original Content, said, Chloe's keen observations and fearless candor make Eyes Down Here overflow with hilarious truths. She's a fast-rising talent, and we couldn't be more excited that she's joining Comedy Central's growing stand-up slate. Fun. If you're watching the YouTube version, you notice I'm dressed like an adult today. Yeah, all my sports teams. Oh, my goodness. Between the Knicks and the 49ers and USC football, everything I wore a hat of last week just went sideways. I'm going to dress like an adult. Maybe I also had a conference call right before this. Can't always wear a Knicks hoodie. SNL UK got into the whole Thomas Markle thing. So this is a really horrible story that we're covering on Palace Intrigue, our sister podcast. I'm the writer on that, where we talk about the British royal family every single day in this Thomas Markle thing. who don't want to get into that at all on this show. But Saturday Night Live UK did. They did it during Weekend Update. If you're listening to the podcast with kids right now, it's a great time to hit stop. Why don't you hit stop?

57 I'll just babble for five seconds so you can hit stop. Did you hit stop? OK, good. You hit stop. Patty Young said in Royal News, it's been a big 24 hours for Meghan Markle, whose dad has been accused of being an alleged pedophile in another pathetic attempt to win over the British public. He tagged that with, in 2025, Thomas Markle moved to the Philippines at a sure sign of his innocence. Anya Magaliano, who's got a lot of heat on her, I'm seeing more and more profiles with her. She seems to be the breakout star of the show. She tagged it with, if the allegations about Meghan Markle's father are true and he is a pedophile, then there's a genuine chance Meghan could be considered royal. Ouch. The Hollywood Reporter went to go see SNL UK. They tell us the live recording seats an audience of 275. The cast and writers bring 30 to 40 sketches to the read-through at the beginning of each week. That is cut down to six or seven by the 6 p.m.

44 dress rehearsal. They go live at 10 p.m. over there. Around five or six different sets surround the entire crew, swivel and reposition between four-minute ad breaks, which are punctuated by some brilliant live jazz music to keep the crowd alive. SNL UK will return in January. They do split seasons. I mean, so does the U.S. version, but they do split seasons. So they just wrapped up their fall season. It's interesting to see how the show is doing. The season one finale, which is not what just aired, but last season one finale, 82,000 viewers. More people watched Seth Meyers than that. That's not a good number. The season two premiere, Jeff Goldblum was your host. That got 105,000 people on September 9th. Not huge numbers. However, maybe like everything else, it's all about the interwebs now. They released over the weekend a clip of Nigerian Wicked. That YouTube clip already has over a million views in less than 24 hours. There's a new film called We Are Animals, highlighting the similarities between humans and other animals to challenge society's acceptance of the systematic abuse of so many animals for food, medical research, fashion, and more. The film features several well-known vegan celebrities, including Nikki Glaser. One of the creators told Vegan News, animals are so often dismissed as the other, while their suffering goes ignored. I wanted to create a film that would demonstrate from a scientific perspective.

50 Thank you for watching. with thoughts and feelings that mean the world to them, just as ours do to us. Time Out magazine did their comedians to watch. One of those comedians is Curtis Cook. Curtis, what's the funniest thing about your life right now? Curtis said, I'm going to die. Every day I live is a step closer to death. And through it all, I'm like, please follow me on social media so I don't get kicked out of comedy. It's funny how much of this one short, precious life I spend trying to get my numbers up online so I can keep doing what I love in person. That said, please follow me on social media so I don't get kicked out of comedy. That's fun. The one joke that always lands, he says, I am, for better or worse, one of those stand-ups who revels in the knowledge that I could always lose the audience. It's fun to play with uncertain energy. That said, this joke tends to work more often than not. And that is your comedy news for today. I am doing the podcast on YouTube. If you want to see my orange basement office with the fake fish tank and my Mets banner and whatever I'm wearing on a particular day, you're welcome to stare at me reading you comedy headlines. The audio podcast continues as normal.

58 If you are watching on YouTube, hit the like button and follow and subscribe and ring the bell or whatever the kids say today. I don't know. I'm 57 years old. I don't know. I'm just filming this because they told me to. All right. See you tomorrow.
